Why use a number wheel

The numbers 1 to 30 are already on the wheel, which covers most classes and games: spin and read the number. Need another range? Make your own copy and change the numbers to anything you like.

  • Call on a student by their class number

Teachers can give each student a number and spin to choose who answers, without showing anyone’s name on the board.

  • Settle who goes first in any game

Each player says a number, and the wheel decides who starts. Hide each number as it comes up to set the whole order.

  • Draw a ticket number at a school fair

Number the tickets for a class prize or a school fair, then spin in front of everyone so they can see the draw.

  • Start a math warm-up with a surprise number

Spin a number, and the class finds its factors, doubles it or uses it in a word problem.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I change the numbers on the wheel?

Yes. Click “Create your own number picker” and add, remove or type any numbers you want. For a set range, there are also ready-made wheels from 1 to 6 up to 1 to 100.

Can a number come up twice?

Yes, unless you hide it. Click “Hide & Respin” after a spin, or turn on “Fair picks” in your own copy, and each number drawn sits out the next spins.

Is the wheel really random?

Yes. Every entry has a slice of the same size, and where the wheel stops is picked with your browser’s cryptographically secure random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues), so nobody can predict or rig the result.

Can I change the entries on this wheel?

Yes. Click “Create your own number picker” to save your own copy. You can then add, remove or rename entries, change the theme and spin settings, and share or embed your wheel.

Is it free?

Completely free, with no sign-up needed. Create a free account only if you want to keep your wheels together.
