Why use a feelings wheel

Sixteen feelings are on the wheel, the pleasant ones and the hard ones. Spin one, then share a time you felt it, act it out, or talk about what helps when it comes.

  • Start the morning check-in

Spin a feeling and each child shares a time they felt it.

  • Learn new words for feelings

Kids find a better word than “fine” or “bad”, one spin at a time.

  • Act out a feeling

One player acts out the feeling and the others guess it.

  • Open a talk at dinner

Families spin and each person says what helps with that feeling.

This wheel wears the Wheel-Being theme: a quiet morning: sage, sand and stone, with a lotus at the center. Your own copy keeps it, or pick another wheel theme.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this the printed feelings wheel chart?

No. The chart puts feelings in rings, from a few big ones in the middle to many exact ones outside. This is a spinner: it picks one feeling for you to talk about, act out or write about.

Can I add the feelings we are learning?

Yes. Click “Create your own feeling picker” and type the feelings words your class is working on.

Is the wheel really random?

Yes. Every entry has a slice of the same size, and where the wheel stops is picked with your browser’s cryptographically secure random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues), so nobody can predict or rig the result.

Can I change the entries on this wheel?

Yes. Click “Create your own feeling picker” to save your own copy. You can then add, remove or rename entries, change the theme and spin settings, and share or embed your wheel.

Is it free?

Completely free, with no sign-up needed. Create a free account only if you want to keep your wheels together.
