Frequently Asked Questions
How are the teams picked?
The names are shuffled with your browser’s cryptographically secure random number generator, then split into teams. When you pick a number of teams, team sizes stay within one person of each other.
Can I choose how many people are on each team?
Yes. Switch to “People per team” and choose a team distribution. “Balanced” evens the teams out so none is bigger than your size. “Exact size” keeps every team at your size but the last: a few extras join the last team, and more make a smaller team. Nobody ends up on a team of one.
Can I import my class list from a spreadsheet?
Yes. Drag a CSV or Excel (.xlsx) file anywhere onto the page, or click “Import CSV or Excel” to choose one. You can also copy a column from Google Sheets or Excel and paste it into the names box. The first column is used, and a heading row such as “Name” is skipped.
Can I move players between teams?
Yes. After generating, drag a name from one team card to another. The copied text, the CSV download and the printout follow your changes.
Are my names saved anywhere?
No. Teams are made in your browser and nothing you type is sent to our servers. A file you drop or choose is read in your browser too; it is never uploaded.
