Frequently Asked Questions
How do I roll a dice online?
Choose how many dice you want and how many sides they have, then press the button. Each die tumbles and lands on its own number, and the page adds them up for you.
Is this dice roller fair?
Yes. Every side of every die has an equal chance. Each number comes from your browser’s cryptographically secure random number generator, and then the die shows it.
Which dice can I roll?
Dice with 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 or 20 sides, up to 6 at once. All the dice in a roll have the same number of sides, so to mix them, roll one kind and then the other.
What does d20 mean?
The d stands for die and the number for its sides, so a d20 has 20 sides. 2d6 means two six-sided dice: choose 2 dice and 6 sides to roll it here.
Can I use it for a tabletop role-playing game?
Yes. Choose 1 die and 20 sides for a d20 roll, or set the dice and sides your rule book asks for. It rolls and adds the dice only, so add any bonus from your character sheet to the total yourself.
Can I use it in class or for a board game?
Yes. Put it on the projector to see who goes first, practice adding with two dice, or pick a number for a class game. It also stands in when a board game’s dice have gone missing.
Is it dice or die?
One is a die and two or more are dice, though plenty of people say a dice for one. Both find the same thing here.
Are my rolls saved?
No. The dice roll in your browser and nothing about them is sent to us. Last rolls are gone when you reload or leave the page.
Is it free?
Yes. There’s no sign-up and nothing to install.
