Why use a random name picker wheel

Paste your own names and spin. Fair picks is already on, so each name picked leaves the wheel until everyone has had a turn, then all of them come back for a new round. The 16 first names on it are made up, so swap in yours.

  • Pick who goes next in class

Teachers can spin on the projector, and nobody is picked twice until everyone has had a turn.

  • Choose who speaks first

Paste the team’s names, and let the wheel set the order for a stand-up or a review.

  • Draw a winner where everyone can see

Paste your entrants, spin on the screen, and share a link to the result.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the same name get picked twice?

Not until everyone has had a turn. With Fair picks on, each name picked leaves the wheel, and the next spin after the last one starts a new round. Turn it off in the settings to keep every name on.

How do I use my own names?

Click “Create your own name picker” and type or paste them, or import a list from a spreadsheet. Saving gives you a link to the same wheel next time.

How many names can it hold?

Up to 200 on a wheel.

Is the wheel really random?

Yes. Every entry has a slice of the same size, and where the wheel stops is picked with your browser’s cryptographically secure random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues), so nobody can predict or rig the result.

Can I change the entries on this wheel?

Yes. Click “Create your own name picker” to save your own copy. You can then add, remove or rename entries, change the theme and spin settings, and share or embed your wheel.

Is it free?

Completely free, with no sign-up needed. Create a free account only if you want to keep your wheels together.

Make your own random name picker wheel

Click “Create your own name picker” at the top to save your own copy, or start a wheel from scratch with your own entries.
